As a film directed by Jeymes Samuel, the last being The Harder They Fall, I had pretty high expectations for this going in, especially considering the very unique concept of a comedy set in biblical times. I’m happy to report that it pretty much had all of the elements you’d expect from a Jeymes Samuel film. An amazing cast with fantastic performances and captivating set pieces that are bolstered by eye-catching cinematography. While the film’s pacing and tonal shifts between comedy and drama were a bit jarring, the cast’s performances and the character arc of our protagonist still made this film an enjoyable watch. Not to mention the incredible soundtrack. Score: 7/10
