With films such as Sonic the Hedgehog and series such as The Last of Us, I thought the days of bad video game adaptations were long behind us. However, despite the best efforts of the star-studded cast and the recognizable premise of a found family in search of a seemingly unattainable treasure (the real treasure being the friends they made along the way), the break-neck pacing, exposition heavy dialogue, and choppy special effects made sure that this particular adaption unfortunately lacked the charm and wittiness that made the Borderlands games so fun in the first place.
