Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut follows a cocktail waitress that gets invited to the private island of a tech billionaire. However, she slowly realizes that everything on the island isn’t what is seems. Without spoiling anything, this film grabs your attention and never lets go thanks to its creative cinematography, fantastic performances, and the interesting ways it uses the elements of a psychological thriller to address real world issues, similar to the likes of Jordan Peele. Despite its pacing issues in the first act, with its slow burn storytelling being a little too slow, it was still very much an excellent debut for Zoe Kravitz as a director, and I hope to see more films from her in the future.
