The third and final installment of the Venom trilogy was just as ridiculous as I thought it would be, even as a Marvel fan. You know what, though? That’s not always a bad thing. Despite the tonal inconsistencies and questionable dialogue that have become synonymous with the Venom films, this is easily one of Sony’s better efforts in terms of making Spider-Man related films without Spider-Man. (Morbius and Madame Web, just to name a couple of the studio’s missteps.) The supporting characters weren’t especially interesting and the story was pretty basic. However, this film was undeniably a lot of fun, being carried by Tom Hardy’s performance as Eddie Brock/Venom, along with some thrilling action set pieces and an earnest attempt at emotional resonance with this being the last film in the series. Also, the Easter eggs throughout the film and the identity of the antagonist are sure to intrigue fellow Marvel fans in terms of the future of the multiverse. Score: 6/10
