Well, as far as final seasons go, I’m happy to report that this one stuck the landing. For those who don’t know, Cobra Kai was a series that served as a spinoff to the original Karate Kid saga. Characters, both new and old, came together and reignited decades old karate rivalries in relatively action-packed fashion. Whether it was a dojo or the hallways of a school, fists were swung and hands were caught. This time around, with the final season of this series revolving around the biggest karate tournament in the world, the stakes are the highest they’ve ever been. It’s very easy for the formula of a show to get stale six seasons in, but this did quite the opposite. There are plenty of jaw-dropping moments and many character arcs are concluded in the most satisfying ways. I did get the impression, at times, that the series had accumulated a bit too many characters and storylines to juggle at once. However, that didn’t stop the show from ending on strong, heartfelt note that would make even Mr. Miyagi proud. It also made me much more excited for the new Karate Kid film dropping this summer. Score: 8/10
