Disney continues its trend of live-action remakes, this time attempting the formula with the first Disney film ever created, Snow White. Now, unlike a lot of other moviegoers, I personally haven’t minded Disney’s live-action remakes all too much. When done right, it honestly serves as a great way to not only introduce some of Disney’s most classic stories to a younger audience, but also grants the opportunity to reimagine it in a relatively unique way. (The Jungle Book is the best example of this, arguably being the best live-action Disney remake to this day.) However, besides a great performance from Rachel Zegler as Snow White and some catchy new songs that weren’t in the original film, Snow White’s questionable visuals and new story beats absent from the original weren’t exactly seamless additions. I don’t think even the good qualities this film had warranted its creation, and while it had entertaining moments, it still ended up being one of the weaker installments in Disney’s live-action canon. Score: 5/10
