One of the distinctive qualities of the original Twister film that released in 1996 was not its story necessarily, but the special effects used to bring a natural disaster such as this to life on screen. It was quite innovative for the time, and it even inspired the creation a Universal Studios ride based on the film that utilized similar effects. However, this 2024 sequel following multiple groups of storm chasers in the midst of a tornado outbreak in Oklahoma not only boasts impressive effects and thrilling action set pieces, but also an interesting story with compelling character moments and solid performances from the cast as well, making this film significantly better than its predecessor in almost every way. Score: 8/10
