Wow, where do I even start with this one? Well, for starters, an R-rated MCU movie starring Deadpool is something I thought I’d never see in my lifetime, but I am more than satisfied with the results. This review will also be completely spoiler-free. Going into this movie completely blind is honestly the best way to experience it, especially if you’re a Marvel fan. Of course, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are excellent as Deadpool and Wolverine, playing their characters as if they jumped straight out of the comic books themselves and their comedic chemistry only elevating the film’s multiversal plot. Speaking of the plot, that is also something I won’t spoil. It acts as a standalone film, not really tying into the current events of the MCU in any meaningful way. However, between the mind-blowing cameos, the incredible action, and the surprising amount of genuine heart among the well-written comedic gags, this relentlessly entertaining superhero flick ended up being exactly what the MCU needed right now. This film’s an absolute treat for Marvel fans and it even serves as a tribute to the FOX Marvel films from the early 2000s. Even casual fans will find plenty to enjoy. Score: 8/10
